I’m delighted with the news that Tim Oliver will succeed Simon Dodsworth as Deputy Leader of Elmbridge BC and that Mary Sheldon will become Cabinet member for Regulatory Affairs (planning, basically). Tim currently acts as the Council’s Resources portfolio holder, which means he is in charge of the Council’s budget. A big job and it’s right that he should also act as Deputy Leader.
It’s a measure of Simon’s huge contribution to Elmbridge that we have needed two people to fill his shoes!. Good luck in Dubai, Simon, we will miss you.
The by-election in Weybridge South will take place on 25th July, and we will be working hard to ensure that Simon’s seat is held by the Conservatives.
