I have just learned that the Planning Inspector has refused O2’s appeal against the refusal of permission to site an enormous telecoms mast at the junction of MIles Lane and Ashcroft Park. I have been helping the local residents to oppose this development since it was first mooted, and so I’m delighted to see that everyone’s efforts have been rewarded.
The result shows that hard work by local residents will often pay off, and it is also an excellent example of all local representative bodies coming together. Full credit is also due to David Bellchamber and David Tipping at the Cobham Conservation and Heritage Trust and Sue Kilpatrick of the Cobham & Downside Residents’ Association, who all weighed in with useful objections. When we all pull together, our objectives are much easier to achieve.
It’s great to start the New Year on such a positive note.
